MY LAST DAY OF ENRICH EVER! :(

Today at Enrich is my last day ever. Thank you to Alana, Katie, Darryn, Sarah and Pania for teaching me at Enrich for the last 3 years.

My second last day EVER!

Today is my second last day at Enrich in my whole life! Today at Enrich Conor and I finished our environment project after 100 fails and now all we have to do is deliver them to people that live around Seaward Bush. I hope old people will be able to read them. After we finally got the fold lines in place I was so happy then Katie found a mistake in the introduction. Then Conor and I did a workshop called Animal Rights. We had to write down what humans and animals need to stay alive. We also watched a small and funny snippet of a pig that was going to get killed and eaten for christmas dinner, but the farmer got too attached to him, and couldn't do it in the end. There was a fat lady and all the animals could talk.

Thinkers Keys

Today at Enrich first up we had a Wilson game. It was when you were in a hulahoop in a group of 3-4 and you had to jump when Katie clapped and said jump. Then you had to jump in the hoop and then out again to win. I was with Conor,Jake and Max F. Then Conor and I completely finished our environment project. Then we did thinkers keys. I did variations with Alana. We had to think of 23 or more ways to communicate without talking. 

Plant Biology

Today at Enrich I did a workshop called Plant biology. We learnt all the parts of a plant. Then we cut the plant open. We got to use dinoscopes to look inside them. We saw how the pollen travels into the ovules and fertilizes them to become seeds. When its really bad weather the flower folds up so the pollen wont get washed out. The reason flowers are around is to reproduce. Also insects were around before flowers and different types of flowers attract different types of insects.

Today at Enrich.

Today at Enrich we played a Wilson game. It was like Piccadilly Circus, except you had to get the objects in order. Then we had passion time. Conor and I finished making it but then Alana said it had too many different colors,so we now have to pick three colors:red,green and yellow. We also have to change the layout :( Conor and I had a game of chess. I won by checkmate.Then we did our must dos and picks. Conor and I did all the workshops. There was affective domain and debating. It was about should holidays be shorter. My team won debating by half a point.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich I wasn't here for the first part of the morning. First we had a game of leader board chess. I versed Conor and I won the first game then he challenged me again with a chess clock and I lost on points. Then we worked on our environment project. Conor had already done some of it. We started must do's and picks. Conor and I have already done 1. It was the create a garden for 3 young kids using this link:

Today at Enrich.

On the first day of term 4 at Enrich I played chess against Conor I won by points. I was losing at the start. Then we discussed how things affect the environment. It was about how you get to school. Then it was morning tea. After that we did a technology challenge. You had to make something to reach a hammer and a chisel without moving your feet. It was from a movie called MacGyver. Me, Conor and Josh made a pole out of newspaper that broke straight away. After lunch we are doing passion time but Conor and I are doing our environment project.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich I had a leader-board game of chess. I faced Conor and I won by points. Then we had a choice of passion time or our environment project. Conor and I chose our environment project because we have already done our oscar awards for our lego animations. The winner was GODZILLA!For the environment project we changed our brochures layout. I started to make half of the brochure on my computer. Now Conor is going to work on the introduction and the layout. I am working on how you can help in Seaward bush.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich Conor and I got further on our environment project. He got all the pest plants and he is labeling them. I am still getting all the native birds and labeling them as well, I am almost finished. Also on our environment project we have almost used a whole page. Conor is only allowed to do 5 pest plants,otherwise it would take up too much room. We also watched a clip about air pollution. It was the top ten most polluted cities in the world. Did you know that Wellington in NZ is the least polluted city in the world? Next I am going to do more of my environment project. Conor is doing a lego animation about Godzilla and the conquistador and his army of series 8 minifigures and aliens.

Environment Project

Today at Enrich Conor and I carried on with our environment project. We got a lot further. We have one thing in it now, Conor made it, it was about what you can do in Seaward bush, such as walks and their distance. I am now working on birds that you might see and I also put pictures beside them so if you do see them you know what bird it is. There are Tuis,Fantails Moreporks and more.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we did a lot of things. First we did a Wilson game. It was called Bullseye,it's when there  are 4 hoops and you are in groups of 5. Then you have to chuck bean bags in the hoop. My group came second. Then we did high interest stations. Conor and I were doing physics. This time we got different things to use to make our parachute. Ours won by a bit, we almost broke the week record! We were 2 points off a second away from breaking it! We used 6 plastic bags,3 balloons,a bit of cardboard, a plastic cup and an egg. We covered the egg up newspaper so it wouldn't break.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich I did p4c. It was about pride and compromising. We watched a movie called Zax. We had to decide when was a good time to have lots of pride or not so much pride. I also did debating it was about should all cats be taken off Stewart Island? My team was the affirmative team. The score was was 7-7. I got one point. Conor and I did some more on our environment project, we have planned our brochure and are now getting all of the information and things to go in it. 

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich I did P4C and debating. Debating was the funnest. It was about should under 18 year olds be allowed on Facebook. My group was the positive side. We won 7 and a half to 5 and a half. Then it was P4C and it was about whether or not you can make an opinion on something you haven't tried before. We also had a person from Environment Southland called Tim come in to speak to us. He told us all about the different types of pests like musterlids. They are stoats, ferrets and possums. He also told us whereabouts they live and he showed us some different types of traps.

Today at Enrich.

Today at Enrich I did cartooning with Katie. It was really fun. We did 5'0 the dog, a guy made from a 9, s'man and a lady made from a 4. My favourites were 5'0 and S'man. They were my best. The others turned out really bad. Also today, we decided on our groups for the environment projects. Conor and I are now sending notices to surrounding neighborhoods about Seaward bush and to help prevent feeding the pests. We are also contacting schools to carry on some of our projects because Conor and I are leaving to intermediate next year.

Today at Enrich.

Today at Enrich we had science again. We made an electrical circuit. My groups didn't work, it didn't even make smoke! Also today we got some ideas on an environment project. I am helping Seaward bush by targeting all the pests and replace bushes with kowhai trees or other plants/trees that attract birds. I am sending out notices about the pests and birds at risk and to educate people about them to help Seaward bush. They can cover their compost and stop leaving food scraps and rubbish scraps for the birds because mostly rats and other pests eat it. Other than leaving food scraps on the ground make or buy a bird feeder so birds can get it not pests.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we had a technology challenge. We had to launch a shuttle cock in the air and we were not allowed to chuck it. My group were making one and then it didn't work then we had to make another one I don't think it will work. Also a lady came in from Environment Southland and talked to us about the mud and how dirty the Waihopai river is. She also told us about the pests in the forest and what they do to become pests. We are doing environment projects. I need to decide this week what I'm going to do.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we got to choose out of science/chemistry, maths or art. I chose science but everybody wanted to do science and Conor didn't get to do science. We made elephant toothpaste. It is a foamy liquid that keeps pouring our of your container or glass. We had to buddy up. I went with a different Connor. We put yellow and blue food coloring. Ours wasn't as big as some other peoples. I am also doing science next week because we get two weeks in the same subject. We also started a new concept curriculum. It is environment. We also looked how people in slums lived.

Last day of Enrich term 2

On the last day of Enrich we had to do a couple of assessments, this is my 10 sentence starters assessment. We have to do four things before we can have passion time. Conor and I are going to make a lego animation. This time we are doing ours separately because we usually make one together. We also did a key competency sheet. First thing this morning we played a Wilson game, there was a group of three and you had to jump and land at the same time. You got sent back if you landed at a different time. Have a great HOLIDAY!

Today at Enric

Today at Enrich we had talent development. We had to send our static image to Katie. We weren't allowed to edit our photo at all because we are entering our photos into the MADE AWARDS. We also had to make a manipulated picture. Mine was a zombie^^^^^. We went on Photofunia to edit ourself. I also did another green screen image. My lego one.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we had passion time.  Conor and I made a lego animation about a riot at a police station. We used Conor's and my lego minifigures for our animation. I brought 12 minifigures and Conor brought 14 minifigures. Also at Enrich today we carried on with our art. Conor and I are in the same art group. We are doing Tapa cloth, it is a page you make patterns on and they have to be symmetrical. Then you have to go over it in vivid, then scrunch it up then you dye it. I haven't finished mine yet. Today at Enrich we didn't have talent development but I didn't mind because we had passion time.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we had talent development. The photography group went to QUEENS PARK! We were taking lots of pictures. We took some static pictures that are not edited and we took some manipulated images when you edit them lots. When we got back from the park we had to send are three favourite pictures to Katie. My favourites were a duck flying and a duck diving.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we had Passion time. Conor and I made a lego animation. It didn't work very well but it was still cool. It was about Godzilla attacking people in a skatepark, he was only dressing up and the skateboarder almost hit him with his skateboard. We used Conor's minifigures. Also at Enrich today for talent development we had a visitor come in for the photography group. He showed us some really old cameras and some modern one. He told what some of the main things in a photograph. His name was David Russell.

Passion time at Enrich.

Today at Enrich we had passion time. Passion time is when we get a hour to get an idea of what to do for our passion projects. I chose to do alice 2.2 which is a computer animation programme We have to manage our time wisely. Next week I am going to make a lego stop and go animation. Also today we had talent development. I am doing photography. We had a photographer come in. We learnt about angles and focus and what makes a good portrait picture.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we went to look at the wearable arts at the museum, they were really cool. There was a dark room, when you went in the dark room, if you were wearing white you would glow and it would look like you were covered in fluff but when you went into the normal light, there is no fluff on you.Also at Enrich we carried on with talent development. We used a programme called Citrify, you can edit your pictures, you can even brush your teeth. When we finished editing some photos we had to send our best photo/s to Katie. I did a few, one of them was me holding a shoe because you can get stickers on Citrify.

P4C at Enrich

Today at Enrich we did P4c about lying. We got asked some questions and had to say if we would lie or tell the truth. Some of the questions were: If your mum came home and asked if you had a cookie before tea, would you lie and say you didn't to not get into trouble or would you own up say you did. I said I would own up. If your friend came to school in a horrible out fit would you say it looks fine even know you hate it or would you say I don't really like it. I said I don't really like it.

Hi Louie.

You have started off your year at Enrich with a positive attitude, and enthusiasm to try everything that is on offer. You are a great role model to our new and younger students in the way that you conduct yourself. You listen to instructions, and you persist with every task until you get it completed. It was great to hear your ideas during our discussion of different photos during our talent development session on Thursday. Keep up the great effort Louie. Katie

Scamper

Today at Enrich we did Scamper. Scamper is a activity we sometimes do at Enrich. You choose an object and do the following. Scamper stands for: S=Substitute, replace something with something else. C=Combine, put your object together with another object. A=Alter, to change the object. M=Mega/mini, make your object smaller or bigger. P=put to other uses, use your object as something else. E=Eliminate,take something of your oblect. R=Reverse, use the object in a different order. Our object was blue-tac. This is one of our scamper techniques:

S - We put a big blob of blue-tac on a lego man's head as a turban.

Today at Enrich I made this alice for talent development taste testers. What we did was we had had thirty minutes at each taste tester. They were drama,alice and imovie. My favorite was alice because we got to retell a story.

Enrich Week 3

Today at Enrich, Conor and I played Pentago, Conor won 2-1. Also at Enrich today we had a Talent Development rotation. There was science,art and maths. My favorite was science we got to make tornadoes out of bottles,water and glitter.I am really looking forward to the talent development and passion projects.
